Outgoing Email (SMTP)Authentication Settings

SMTP Authentication SettingsSome email servers require you to use authentication in order to send emails.  This window lets you choose what user and password to use

Use the same settings as my incoming mail server - If your email server uses the same user name and password to send email as it does to receive it, you can just check this and hit OK.

Log on using: - Select this if you need to specify a specific user name and password for sending email.  This will ungray the User Id and Password fields.

User Id - Yep, also in the stuff from your Internet provider, or from your email program.  This is your user id for your email.  It's usually the first part of your email address before the @ sign, however it can sometimes be the whole email address, sometimes with the @ symbol changed to something else.

Password - This may be the tough one for you because email programs such as Outlook Express will only show you asterisks instead of your actual password.  If you don't remember it, you'll have to find out what it is from the information given to you by your Internet provider.
