Dartopia Privacy Policy
Effective date: 18 September 2026
This policy describes how Dartopia for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV (“Dartopia,” “we”) handles information. Dartopia is a local dart scoring app. It does not require an account, does not include ads or analytics, and does not operate a backend that receives your data.

What this app does not do
We do not:
- Create user accounts or require a sign-in
- Collect data on our servers (there are none)
- Use advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs
- Sell personal information
- Use data for tracking across other companies’ apps or websites
App Store payments, if you buy Unlock All Games, are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details.
Information stored on your device
You can use Dartopia without entering personal details. If you choose to, the following stays on that device unless you share a game on your local network (see below).
| Information | Where it is stored | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Player names | On device | Roster, scoreboard, past-game records |
| Optional player photos | On device (from Camera or your photo library) | Avatars on the scoreboard and summaries |
| Game scores, archives, postponed games, win/loss and marks-per-round stats | On device | Scoring, history, and player profiles |
| Settings (sound, Dart Bot skill, past-game limits, nearby sharing, device name) | On device | App preferences |
| Nearby device identifier and the list of devices you have allowed to connect | On device | Remember permitted remotes and Apple TVs |
| Optional guest Wi-Fi name and password | On-device Keychain | Show a QR code so guests can join that network |
Camera access is used only if you take a profile photo. Photo library access is used only if you choose an existing photo. Local Network access is used to find and talk to other Dartopia devices you choose to connect.
Apple TV stores which sharing device it last used so it can reconnect. It does not keep a player roster of its own.
Local network sharing
If you turn on Share nearby (or join a nearby device, or use Apple TV as a scoreboard), Dartopia sends game information over your local network only to devices that connect. That can include player names, scoreboard state, and small copies of player photos.
- New remotes and Apple TVs need permission on the hosting iPhone or iPad the first time.
- Sharing uses the local network (and standard Apple device-to-device networking). It is not uploaded to us.
- Anyone who can see the guest Wi-Fi QR code can read the network name and password you stored. Do not show that code to people who should not join the venue Wi-Fi.
- Turn off Share nearby, remove an authorized device in Settings, or leave the game on Apple TV to stop sharing with that device.
How long information is kept
Information stays on the device until you delete it or remove the app.
You can:
- Delete a player (except Dart Bot), including their photo, from Settings
- Remove a profile photo without deleting the player
- Delete past games with a swipe on Home
- Remove guest Wi-Fi in Settings
- Remove an authorized nearby device in Settings
- Delete Dartopia, which removes on-device data for that copy of the app (Keychain items may remain until you delete them in Settings or remove the app, depending on iOS)
We cannot delete data from your device remotely because we never receive it.
Third parties
- Apple. App Store, In-App Purchase, iCloud backups of device data if you use iCloud Backup, and operating-system services. Apple’s privacy policy applies to those services.
- Libraries in the app. Dartopia uses Apple frameworks and the Haversack library to store guest Wi-Fi credentials in the Keychain on your device. Those libraries do not send Dartopia data to us.
If you buy Unlock All Games, Apple processes the purchase under Apple’s terms. Extra games unlock on that Apple ID’s devices through Apple’s purchase system once that purchase is enabled.
Children
Dartopia is not directed at children and is not in the Kids Category. Do not add photos of children unless you are authorized to do so. We do not knowingly collect children’s data on our servers because we do not collect data on servers.
Your choices and requests
Because data stays on your device, the controls above are how you access, correct, or delete it. If you have a question or a privacy request, email hello@strandcontrol.com. We will respond as required by applicable law (including GDPR and similar laws where they apply). We may not be able to fulfill a request for data we do not hold.
You can also withdraw camera, photo, or local network permission in iOS or tvOS Settings. Some features will not work without those permissions.
Apple TV
The Apple TV app is a scoreboard. It receives game state from a nearby iPhone or iPad running Dartopia. It does not score, does not offer In-App Purchase, and does not send that game state to us.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects how Dartopia handles information, we will update this page and the effective date. Continued use after the update means you accept the revised policy.
